Gartner Says Smartphone Sales Increased 3.7% in Fourth Quarter of 2008

According to a Gartner report, the worldwide smartphone sales in the 4th quarter of 2008 reached 38.1 million, an increase of 3.7 per cent YOY. This is the lowest growth rate ever for smartphone sales.

Nokia is still No. 1, but with market share declined to 40.8% from 50.9% a year ago.
RIM comes in as No. 2 with market share increased to 19.5% from 10.9% a year ago.
Apple, HTC, and Samsung follow and market share all increased some.
